Born to Be Conned - The New York Times
by paul from cleveland inborn to be conned - new york times.
when people want to believe what they want to believe, david sullivan, a professional cult infiltrator, told the commonwealth club of california, a public affairs forum, in july 2010, they are very hard to dissuade.
and the reason it happens (and often happens to the most intelligent people) is that human nature is wired toward creating meaning out of meaninglessness..

Changes to reporting
by Formerbrother inso it seems placing literature is not so important anymore, now that we live in a digital age.. we are being pushed to show videos instead.
this is the new reporting from next month, just hrs and any literature placed in one box and then how many videos you showed in another box.. bib changes for sure..

Can they download these videos or do they have to stream them and use mobile data at the door? If required to use mobile data, it could get expensive if you're a family head with a wife and several children. All of you need smart phones or tablets and a larger data plan. -

How do you overcome SHUNNING after leaving the organization and move on?
by suavojr init amazes me how many of you have left it all behind, including family, brothers and sisters, friends and a full network of people.
i for one cannot find the courage to breakaway, and this causes me great anxiety and stress.
it eats me alive to think that if i open my mouth everyone i know will simply turn their back on me.

I have to think of it as similar to this scenario: I was in prison for 30 years. Then one day the warden came up to me and said I could be released under the condition that I would never be permitted to return to the prison to visit my former cellmates. I might miss them but it's much better to be free. -

Shunning is very dehumanizing. It's been 22 years and I haven't overcome it.
However now I have real friends. People that I know will never leave me.
You do realize that you don't have any true friends in the organization don't you? All of those relationships are entirely conditional. They'll all abandon you in a heartbeat without even knowing the reason if they disfellowship you. It usually happens at the time you need friends the most.

Gabriel, I highly doubt you'll sell many of these books at $50 a copy. It's not a good price point. Lulu charges you just $7.85 for a 6x9 330 page book. A good starting point would be to triple your cost of production and make the price around $25 or less. It would add a lot to your credibility as well. -
